Your own guess; a professional determines the actual category.

What do the two publishers actually report?
The commercial Save The Day Restoration regional guide lists $1,500–$5,000 for a minor, one-room clean-water job in Los Angeles/Orange counties plus a $500–$1,500 initial minimum. National HomeAdvisor lists $3–$4 clean, $4–$6.50 gray and $7–$7.50 high-contamination restoration per square foot. Neither says what a Marina del Rey address will cost.
How does the site's model begin?
An affected floor area already known, finite from 10 to 5,000 square feet, is multiplied by provisional pairs: clean [3,4], gray [4,6.5], high [7,7.5], unknown [3,7.5]. Lower base is the greater of area × low and $500; upper base the greater of area × high and $1,500. Those minimum floors and the unknown band are our modelling decisions, not a source's bid formula.
What can be added to the unrounded result?
For two fixed repair components, HomeAdvisor's national table reports $450–$1,600 for ceilings and $300–$850 for drywall. Save The Day lists carpet removal $2–$4 and installation $4–$12, plus hardwood removal $4–$8 and installation $8–$20 or more per square foot. Our sums are carpet $6–$16 and hardwood $12–$28 or more. Selected areas cannot overlap or together exceed total floor area. Add all selected repairs to the unrounded bases; only then round final low down and high up to $100. The wood upper estimate remains “or more”.
Why does a final price need a separate proposal?
This browser calculation does not determine water category, shared-wall responsibility, hidden layers, insurer payment or provider availability. No form transmits the figures. Bring the output as a question to an independent provider and ask for an itemized estimate.
Calls go to voicemail, not a live provider. Messages are recorded and transcribed after the greeting. You can email us instead.
