Water near a sink disposal can be caused by several connections or by another route in the cabinet. Replacing the appliance without a source finding may not resolve adjacent material damage.
What would the source report identify?
Ask whether a disposer body, drain joint, supply fitting or another path was checked, and who will correct it. The observation should be made by a professional rather than through homeowner handling of a wet electrical appliance.
Which building materials are assessed separately?
Request findings for cabinet base, wall and floor, with a clear reason for drying, removal or keeping each. EPA's flood guidance only calls for discarding highly absorbent materials if they cannot be cleaned and dried; it is no declaration that this cabinet must go.
Stay away from the affected area, do not touch electrical switches, outlets or appliances near water, and call a professional. If anyone is in danger, leave the area and call 911.
How should the quotation be divided?
Appliance or fitting repair, material drying and replacement may be different tasks. Compare a scope checklist with the provider's proposal; the area calculator has no disposal-unit repair price.
Calls go to voicemail, not a live provider. Messages are recorded and transcribed after the greeting. You can email us instead.
